True Blue Cowboys fan here. I personally think that McNabb is a great QB. I have a lot of respect for him in the league and is always fun to watch. He is capable of making bigger plays that a lot of other QBs in the league are not capable of making. Such as heaving the ball down field to Desean Jackson lol. Those are killer(lucky he wasn't given that chance against Dallas) He is very good at escaping pressure and staying focused. freshwater fish do not need salt ... it does not help with stress ... if you use a good dechlorinator it helps with the slime coat which is all they need ... once you put that salt in it NEVER evaporates, it will always be there ... and the times when it could actually be used for sickness, if you add more, you are messing up the water ... forget the salt ... pantyhose is okay ... rinse well under regular water and then soak in some siphoned off tank water before putting in the tank ... there is a guy on ebay who sells covers for the intake of a filter that is like a very small mesh tube ... it does not affect the filter in any way but protects anything like fry being sucked up :O)

Why wont my gouldian finch baby leave the nest?

My gouldian finch baby is now aproaching its 23-24 day in life and it wont fledge. Is this normal? The parents are still feeding it in the nest box and it is looking good. I have read that they will fledge around day twenty and I was just wandering if I should be alarmed. I have seen the father calling the baby from outside the box and the baby have been seen sticking its head out of the hole but it remains in the nest.

(It's not like I wear them casually) Anyway, I've noticed my friend's Pumas (Speed Cats?) appear like they conform well to their feet and they look like they would feel less like shoes in that they look like the soles would bend easier (sort of like Converse). Just a little understanding?

Absolutely. Everyone should be understanding and non-judgemental. No person will "give away" their child without a good reason and that reason is usually made out of love for that child and the fact that they know they have nothing to offer it, but that some loving family will be able to give the child all it needs. It is a most giving love, a sacrificial one and it isn't without it's own pain and heartache so yes, people should always be understanding and sensitive.

Different smichah courses have very different requirements, syllabi etc. what you study in an orthodox Yeshivah will vary by denomination and sect; it will vary from what you learn ina Conservative or Reform seminary etc. In orthodox, the trainign will generally consist of studying one patrticular set of laws intensively. One smichah I know of takes seven years full time but does the whole Orech Chaim in the Shulkhan Arukh covering prayer, festivals, Shabbos involving tracing the law nad practives form the Torah, Mishnah, Gemorrah through to the commentaries of the Rishonim, then the shulkhan aruch followed by the commentaries of the acharonim with studying the more recent tulings for practical halachah in dealing with the modern world. However this is an extreme, most smichahs are shorter and on a much shorter syllabus. (the shortest smichah programme I know of is at the Chabad Yeshivah in Pretoria, South Africa where Smichah takes only a year full time and follwos a similar syllabus to the one laid out by Zvi in his answer- though they are very selective in whom they allow in in that all the bochrim are required to have been heavily involved in the community with studying in community schools before entering and they are known to be at the required level of knowledge for the abreviated smichah programme)

Why do men shut down when they get sick?

I have noticed this about men lately--whenever they get sick they act like it's the end of the world. My dad whines and complains when he has a cold and yet my mom never complains when she is suffering from bronchitis. Would adding a couple gallons of E85 to my #2 heating oil tank hurt?

My tank is down to the nasty sludge and some water at the bottom now. I heard ethanol both absorbs water and breaks down the thick sludge in fuel tanks. I got my car back from the auto shop on monday. It had work done to the front axels. So today I'm driving down the interstate in rush-hour traffic (luckily), going about 15-20 miles per hour, and all of the sudden my steering wheel becomes loose, and the car screeches, skids and jerks sideways onto the shoulder of the highway. I was not injured in any way. Road-side istance came to help me soon after. The man was instantly able to identify the problem, and it turns out that when the auto shop finished work on the axel, they did not tighten a very crucial bolt, and/or put in the safety pin to keep it secure. One of the two was not done correctly, because had it been, this would not have happened to me. The tire was essentially detached from the axel, making my steering wheel useless. You can picture this as my two front tires pointing at each other by the time i came to a screeching stop, like this -- / \. I can promise you all that had I been driving at normal interstate speeds when this happened, I would not be typing this right now. What kind of legal issues are at hand here? Do I have the right to sue the company, or simply the right to demand free repair?

You're better than most people on here. But I'm finding this style of narration quite annoying. The character comes off as an ordinary - the first thing he does is whinge at us then he disrespects his girlfriend, bores us with the state of his finances, and tells us he's basically got no reason to be so miserable. How do you expect us to care about this guy enough to read more about him? Also, you change tenses - from present to past and back again - and one minute you've got your character talking in a strong, believable (and very distinctive) young male voice, then he goes posh all of a sudden with 'a fairly bright fellow named Thoreau' and 'I heartily agree' - is that your voice slipping in there? Thoreau's pretty well known so unless you were trying to be funny with that line your character is going to sound ignorant acting as if nobody has heard of him. You also need to work on your grammar - 'it's' ALWAYS should mean 'it is', but 'its' means 'belonging to it', the same way 'whose' means 'belonging to whom' and 'who's' means 'who is'. There were some interesting descriptions like 'young sun' and I appreciated the humour of 'Slumlord'. But in fact, description is something you might want to pare back. I felt aulted by too much information in the second line about the six dollar alarm clock Mara got for her birthday playing Macarena - it's okay to mention the music, and the source of the music, but forcing us to grapple with extra information just stirs up too many questions. (eg "Who's Mara? Wait, who's telling me this? Why did they get this woman a six-dollar alarm clock? Why is her alarm clock in this room? Does this person not care about Mara? Why? Or don't they have much money? Why? What self-respecting radio station plays the Macarena at 5.30 am? What year is this set in? How loud is 'max volume' - more like plain old obnoxious music or more like a jet taking off?" And so on, and so forth.) Anyway, this stuff (apart from the grammar) is completely subjective. Yes, your question makes a really good point. I wonder if a person really has to move or live far away to overcome this problem. As you mentioned we teach people how to teach us. I think all we can control is ourselves but we can control how people treat us because there is a law of attraction. It is easier to just run from others but the best thing to do is not attract what we don't want my looking at what we don't want. Then focusing on what we do want. So if a person wants to live in an area where they feel judged they have to really be able to believe that they are free from being judged so completely they can live where they want & not have this happen anymore. If they don't feel this way they could possibly attract people in a new area that judge them so it is important to change within anyway.

Obviously it went horribly, where they got into a screaming match, but overall they said they would attend. Now, we're on a tight budget, and I did not invite all of our friends or even allow some to bring a plus one to the wedding, that's how strict we're being with attendance. My problem is, it's great that his parents said they would attend (a year ago when my fiance moved out of his home and so did I to rent a place together, his mom swore up and down she would never come to our wedding if he moved out with me), it wasn't the answer I was expecting, but I'm having a real problem with the idea that they would be attending my wedding even though they disapprove of me, and don't wish us well, or given us their blessing. What I really wanted was a wedding with friends and family surrounded by warm wishes, a joyous occion... but I can't imagine them being there. I keep picturing us surrounded by smiling faces, and I look over, and could just see the sour look on their faces. The bulk of our budget is going to a great photographer, and I would hate for shots from my wedding of my in laws with disapproving faces, it seems such a waste of our hard earned money to end up having shots of them looking like that. What should I do in this kind of situation? I personally feel that if they aren't happy for us, they shouldn't come, why bother sending them an invitation? In one of these small diners off the beaten path, I had a dish that was partitioned into about a dozen small sections, each one containing a unique food. Although some of the foods would be considered a side dish or dessert, most of them were what we Americans generally lump together as "curry," as in meat in a thick spicy paste/sauce. It was one of the best meals I have ever had but have not found it in Indian restaurants in America. This dish seemed to be the most popular among the people eating there, but as there was not an English menu I have no idea what it was called or what I had ordered (I just pointed to another person's meal to order :-) Do any of you know what this is typically called, and is it unique to that particular restaurant or Malaysian-Indian cuisine? I am hoping that if I at least know what this is referred to I might be able to find a similar sampler platter at restaurants here in America. Thanks!

Should I allow my soon-to-be ex-wife to take my children to Sweden?

The pre-hearing trial for our divorce is on 3/31. It's at least a 4 hour session. It's where all the issues of our divorce, a divorce she initiated, are to be resolved: custody, ets, alimony, etc. I learned from my daughter today that their mother is planning to take them to Sweden during spring break, which coincidentally begins 3/31. That's a Monday, so presumably they'd leave on the Friday evening or Saturday before the 31st. What's wrong with this picture? She has a best friend of long-standing who lives in Sweden, and a former boyfriend lives there as well, I think. We've been married almost 18 years. The kids are 15 and 11. Would she come back? What are the immigration policies in Sweden? Can we have some clause in our divorce decree that prohibits either one of us from taking the children out of the country without the other parent's permission? What to do with a constantly screaming baby at night!?

I have a one month old baby girl. Healthy, but very fussy (she is a colicky baby). She's cleaned, fed (fed), changed, burped, and swaddled. It's very, very hard to fall asleep because she's constantly screaming at night! I try to ignore it but I can't. I run over to her and take her in my arms and she stops crying. I feed her, and I change her diaper. I put her on my stomach (her tummy to mine as well) which helps SOMETIMES. I put a pacifier in her mouth. The minute I put her back in her crib, she screams again. That way, I end up rocking her all night and finding myself sleeping on the floor in her nursery to keep her "comfy". What do I do? This is a disaster! I'm never getting any sleep, and my back hurts because I sleep (literally) on the floor in her nursery. My husband and I take turns watching her at night--back and forth. Back and forth. He's very helpful and helps me take care of our baby. But she screams all night unless we're holding her in our arms. Anything works if she's in mommy's arms! Nothing works if she's in her crib! Ugh. Mommies, what do I do? She's driving us insane!!

Whats wrong with my my gas grill?

My char-broil propane gas grill isn't working. One burner won't work at all. The valve just spins.The others have very low flame on just one end. This is only 2yrs old and was quite expensive. It worked great last year. The propane tank is pretty full but it is last yrs thanx for any input.

4 week old baby with virus?

my 4 week old baby has caught a virus(runny nose and cough) from my 1 1/2 year old son.. She just seems to be congested and coughs a bit, which could just be the normal newborn cough.. I am using nose spray and sucking her nose when it needs it.. The doctor said that there is nothing they can do for her and dont need to see her... she doesnt have a fever or anything like that.. Is there anything i can do for her? i dont want her to get any sicker? Is it normal for babies this young to get colds?
