Malaysian-Indian Cuisine- What is the dish called that serves multiple curry-style dishes together?

While backpacking through Southeast Asia, I stopped in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I am a big fan of trying "local" cuisines, and found that a great number of restaurants were labeled as "Indian" in Malaysia. In one of these small diners off the beaten path, I had a dish that was partitioned into about a dozen small sections, each one containing a unique food. Although some of the foods would be considered a side dish or dessert, most of them were what we Americans generally lump together as "curry," as in meat in a thick spicy paste/sauce. It was one of the best meals I have ever had but have not found it in Indian restaurants in America. This dish seemed to be the most popular among the people eating there, but as there was not an English menu I have no idea what it was called or what I had ordered (I just pointed to another person's meal to order :-) Do any of you know what this is typically called, and is it unique to that particular restaurant or Malaysian-Indian cuisine? I am hoping that if I at least know what this is referred to I might be able to find a similar sampler platter at restaurants here in America. Thanks!
